1. Cancelling your subscription

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings or by emailing akademai@outlook.de. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep access until then, and you will not be charged for the following period. We do not provide pro-rata refunds for the unused portion of a billing period, except where required by law.

2. Right of withdrawal for consumers in the EU

Effects of withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse all payments received from you without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed of your decision to withdraw. We will use the same means of payment you used for the initial transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise; in no event will you be charged any fees as a result of the reimbursement.

Early performance and loss of the right of withdrawal for digital content and services

Because NovelWriterAI provides digital content and online services that begin immediately, the right of withdrawal expires early where: (a) you have expressly requested that we begin performance before the end of the withdrawal period, and (b) you have acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal once the contract has been fully performed (for digital services) or once performance has begun with your prior express consent and acknowledgement (for digital content not supplied on a tangible medium). We will ask for this consent and acknowledgement at checkout where applicable.

3. Refunds outside the withdrawal right

Outside our 14-day money-back guarantee and the statutory withdrawal right, payments are generally non-refundable, for example for a billing period that has already started. We may, at our discretion, grant a refund or credit in individual cases (for example, in the event of a significant service failure). Your mandatory statutory warranty and consumer rights remain unaffected.
